What sets this project apart from others like it is how it’s paid for. Mr. Treter developed the space with Kate Redman, a lawyer who works with nonprofit organizations, and several other entrepreneurs who were dealing with similar challenges. They created a crowdfunding campaign that recruited nearly 500 residents to invest $1.3 million as a down payment to help finance the project’s construction and earn up to 7 percent annually in dividend payments. By Ju-min ParkSEOUL (Reuters) - South Korea's intelligence agency says poor conditions for North Koreans working overseas have led to "incidents and accidents", while researchers report rare protests and unrest in China among workers from a North Korean military-linked trading company. Fed up with unpaid wages and lingering pandemic lockdowns, as many as 3,000 North Korean workers in China staged protests last month, according to two South Korean government-affiliated researchers, including a former North Korean diplomat. The North Korean embassy in Beijing and its consular office in the Chinese border city of Dandong did not respond to calls from Reuters seeking comment. South Korea's unification ministry said in a report last year that China and Russia were hosting North Korean workers despite the sanctions. That's not easy now, given the North Korean regime wants to keep them in China to raise money for the government."

Elon Musk's social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, announced it will launch peer-to-peer payments this year, according to a Tuesday blog post. X said the payments will unlock "more user utility and opportunities for commerce" as the platform works to "revolutionize 2024." The blog post did not offer specific details about how the payments will work or when they will officially launch. According to the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System website, X Payments LLC — the payment subsidiary of X — has only obtained money transmission licenses in 14 states so far. Introducing peer-to-peer commerce to the platform would mark the latest sweeping change at X since Musk acquired the company for $44 billion in late 2022.

Hashtag searches for dupes of major brands - including Skims underwear and Deckers' (DECK.N) Ugg boots - have been viewed millions of times on TikTok. Graphic shows pictures of four original products and their original prices under named brands compared with the prices of their 'dupe' counterparts. Newer technologies like the Google Lens app allow people to take photos of items they like and find similar products for sale. In other cases, dupe sellers opt to replicate the look of higher-priced originals with cheaper materials to maximize profit. However, experts say dupe sellers have grown increasingly skilled at avoiding brand logos and other design features that could infringe existing patents or copyrights.

With short sellers looking to profit from the stock, it closed at $55.17 after touching a high of $69 on Friday. Arm shares underperformed the Philadelphia semiconductor index (.SOX), which closed down 0.96% on Tuesday as rising bond yields weighed on growth sectors such as technology. Short sellers need to borrow a stock to short it, and the relationship between shares on loan and shorted is normally quite close, according to Ortex. By comparison, Tesla (TSLA.O), a stock with a similar percentage of shorted shares, has a cost to borrow at 0.48%, Ortex said. Arm's higher cost to borrow "can be an indication that the demand to borrow, and short, the stock is high," Hillerberg said.
